With the JUNG 1735 DD, you control your lighting intuitively directly on the wall. By turning the control knob, you continuously adjust the desired brightness, while pressing the knob switches the light on or off. This classic operation requires no app, radio connection, or additional control centre, making it especially simple, reliable, and immediately understandable for everyone in the household.

The dimmer operates on the phase-cut principle and is designed for suitable dimmable incandescent lamps, high-voltage halogen lamps, HV LED lamps, as well as electronic LED ballasts with LED lamps. The power range at an ambient temperature of 35 °C is from 3 to 200 W. This makes it suitable for both individual LED bulbs with relatively low power consumption and larger lighting groups. It is crucial that the lamps used are explicitly approved for phase-cut dimming. For LED lamps, the actual usable number and total power may also depend on the electrical behaviour of the respective lamps.

Individually adjustable dimming range

Not every LED lamp behaves the same at low or high brightness levels. Some lamps start flickering at very low settings, switch on unreliably, or reach their technically sensible maximum power before the end of the control path. Therefore, with the JUNG 1735 DD, you can adjust and permanently save both the minimum brightness and maximum brightness to suit the connected lighting.

Setting the minimum brightness helps to establish a stable lower dimming value. This prevents the light from flickering or going out completely when dimmed down. The storable maximum brightness limits the upper control range according to the lighting system. This ensures a sensibly usable rotation range and allows better coordination between dimmer and lamp.

Soft start for pleasant lighting

When switched on, the integrated soft start increases the power in a controlled manner instead of instantly applying the set value to the lamp. This feels pleasant because the light does not suddenly flare up and also reduces electrical load peaks during switching on. This function is a useful addition for comfortable and lamp-friendly operation, especially with frequently switched lights.

Ideal for modernising existing installations

A key advantage of the JUNG 1735 DD is its operation via a 2-wire connection without a neutral conductor. In many classic switch boxes, only the live conductor and switched conductor are present, while no neutral conductor is routed to the control element. Therefore, the dimmer can be used in numerous existing installations without the need to lay an additional neutral conductor cable solely for its operation.

The device is installed in a device box according to DIN 49073 and connected via screw terminals. Besides simple switching off, a two-way switch is also possible in combination with a suitable two-way switch. Existing crossover switches can also be used, with the dimmer replacing an existing two-way switch. This allows the lighting to be dimmed at one location and switched on or off from other switching points.

Reliable protection in daily operation

For safe and durable operation, the JUNG 1735 DD features electronic short-circuit protection and electronic overtemperature protection. If the electronics detect an impermissible load or too high a temperature, they protect the dimmer and connected system from possible damage. The maximum connection power applies at an ambient temperature of 35 °C. At higher temperatures, when installed in wooden or drywall walls, or within multiple combinations, the permissible power must be reduced accordingly.

In the off state, the standby power consumption is 0 W. The dimmer thus requires no permanent standby power. The maximum power loss during operation is 2 W.

JUNG technology matching your switch design

The JUNG 1735 DD is the technical flush-mounted insert behind the visible operating surface. For complete installation, you additionally need a suitable JUNG rotary dimmer cover and the matching frame of the desired switch programme. This means you are not tied to a specific look in design but can assemble the technology to suit your room concept.

The insert is compatible with the corresponding rotary dimmer covers from the JUNG AS, A, CD, and LS series. This ranges from functional and timeless programmes such as AS 500 and CD 500, through modern variants of the A series, to the streamlined LS range with LS 990. Existing JUNG installations can often be technically modernised in this way without having to change the chosen switch design.

It is especially interesting for renovations and replacing older rotary dimmers when no neutral conductor is present in the switch box. Before purchase, you should check whether your lamps are dimmable and suitable for the phase-cut method. You also need a rotary dimmer cover matching the chosen JUNG switch programme and, if necessary, a matching frame. The dimmer insert is used without a visible cover and is only fully operable together with these components.
