The WAGO communication module adds ETHERNET access to WAGO energy meters and other Modbus RTU slaves. The Modbus TCP module is designed based on the 879 Series energy meters and has the same shape. There are various ways to connect the communication module to the energy meters:
1. Connection to the energy meter via the UART interface (one communication module per energy meter)
2. Connection via the RS-485 interface (up to 32 generic Modbus® slaves)
