The UniFi Dream Router 7 is a tri-band Wi-Fi 7 router supporting the latest WLAN standards (802.11be). The three frequency bands – 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz – enable parallel connections with high speed and low latency. Especially the 6 GHz band ensures interference-free operation in densely populated environments such as apartment buildings.

The WLAN performance is impressive: up to 5.7 Gbps on 6 GHz, 4.3 Gbps on 5 GHz, and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. Thanks to MU-MIMO and beamforming, many simultaneous connections are handled stably and quickly – ideal for streaming, gaming, and smart home.

On the back, the UDR7 offers a strong port selection: one 10G SFP+ WAN port for fibre or fast uplinks, one 2.5G RJ45 WAN port for modern internet connections, and three 2.5G LAN ports, one of which supports PoE. This allows devices like cameras or VoIP phones to be powered directly.

The full UniFi app suite is integrated: you can centrally manage your network (UniFi Network), cameras (Protect), access controls (Access), VoIP phones (Talk), and even EV charging stations (Connect). Everything runs via the intuitive UniFi interface – either via app or web interface.

A special feature is the integrated NVR with a pre-installed 64 GB microSD card. This lets you store video recordings locally without additional hardware. The card can be expanded if needed – ideal for small surveillance systems.

In terms of security, the UDR7 offers features usually only found in business routers: layer-7 firewall with DPI, intrusion detection and prevention (IDS/IPS), geo-IP filtering, content filtering, ad-blocking, and VPN options such as WireGuard, OpenVPN, and IPsec. Zero-config VPNs like Teleport are also possible – perfect for remote access without complicated setup.

Management is very simple: the integrated 0.96" display shows status information directly on the device. The UniFi app gives you access to all functions – whether at home or on the go. Thanks to cloud integration, you can monitor and control your network anytime.

The form factor is compact and elegant: with a height of 7.24 in and diameter of 4.33 in, the UDR7 fits easily on a shelf or desk. The housing is made of sturdy polycarbonate, and the LED ring on top shows the operating status at a glance.

Technically, the router is equipped with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor (1.5 GHz) and 3 GB RAM. The maximum power consumption is 26 W (without PoE), and power is supplied via an internal 50 W power supply.

For network professionals, the UDR7 offers many extras: VLANs, SD-WAN, site-to-site VPNs, RADIUS server, dynamic routing (OSPF), advanced NAT, and QoS. The MAC address table holds up to 2,000 entries – enough for complex setups.

The UDR7 is NDAA-compliant and CE/FCC/IC certified. Operating temperature ranges from 14 to 104 °F, and humidity may be between 5 and 95%. This makes it suitable even for demanding environments.
