The double-insulated solar cable is suitable for PV systems according to IEC 60364-7-712 and can be used in and on double-insulated devices of protection class II. It is water-resistant and suitable for outdoor, indoor, and buried use. The cable construction comprises a tinned copper strand according to VDE 0295 IEC 60228 Class 5, insulation made of cross-linked polyolefin, and an outer sheath made of a cross-linked special compound XLPC. The cable is flame-retardant, weather- and UV-resistant, as well as ozone- and halogen-free. It is corrosion-resistant and suitable for temperatures from -40 to +120 degrees Celsius. The nominal voltage is 1.5/1.5 kV DC and 1.0/1.0 kV AC, with a maximum operating voltage of 1.8 kV DC. The maximum conductor resistance is according to EN 50395 Section 5. The bending radius is 4 x DA for fixed installation and 6 x DA for flexible installation.
