Technical Basis: KNX RF+ and KNX Secure

The RF-FGES.01S operates with the KNX RF+ protocol in system mode. This means it can be fully integrated into a KNX installation and parameterised via ETS software. Communication takes place wirelessly, which also facilitates use in existing buildings where no bus cables have been installed. For maximum data security, the handle supports KNX Secure. All telegrams are transmitted encrypted to exclude manipulation or eavesdropping attempts. This is an indispensable feature, especially for security-relevant functions such as window monitoring.

Mechanics and Design

The mechanical design of the RF-FGES.01S is as well thought out as the electronics. The handle is made of robust stainless steel and visually blends harmoniously into modern living and working environments. The cover cap measures 145x36x27 mm and elegantly conceals the electronics. The square spindle has a diameter of 7 mm and is variable in length from 32 to 43 mm. This makes the handle suitable for most common window and door fittings. Installation is carried out like a normal window handle – without special tools and without interfering with the window mechanics.

Power Supply and Maintenance

Power is supplied by two standard AA batteries, which are included in the scope of delivery. Consumption is optimised so that the batteries achieve a long service life. Battery replacement is straightforward and does not require removing the entire handle – the cover can be easily opened.

This allows flexible integration of the handle into existing logics.
