Application Purpose

The KNX weather station records the meteorological data of wind speed, precipitation, twilight, temperature, and brightness in three direction-dependent measurements. Its main area of use is automatic, weather-dependent shading control. It is specially designed for residential use. To increase operational reliability, the weather station self-monitors several important functions and independently reports corresponding errors via signalling objects on the bus. It is intended for outdoor mounting on a mast or wall. The bus coupling to the KNX is integrated. The data evaluation itself, especially the limit value processing, is already carried out within the weather station. It is protected against functional impairment caused by frost and dew by a built-in heater down to –20 °C. Furthermore, the heater ensures rapid drying of the precipitation sensor surface after rain and defrosting in case of snow and ice.
