The Intesis KNX air conditioning gateway connects various types of air conditioning units to a KNX system. It is used wherever central control via KNX is desired, regardless of whether the air conditioning unit communicates via infrared, Modbus, or a proprietary interface. The gateway translates control commands and status messages between both systems, thus enabling complete integration into the building automation system.

The control includes all important functions such as operating mode, setpoint temperature, fan speed, and slat position. These can be addressed via KNX communication objects and integrated into visualizations, logic, or scenes. The gateway also provides feedback so that the current status of the air conditioning unit is visible in the KNX system at all times. Compatibility with different manufacturers is ensured by an extensive database or specific communication protocols.
