The Intesis KNX air conditioning gateway connects various types of air conditioning units with a KNX system. It is used wherever central control via KNX is desired, regardless of whether the air conditioner communicates via infrared, Modbus, or a proprietary interface. The gateway translates control commands and status messages between both systems, enabling full integration into building automation.

The control includes all key functions such as operating mode, set temperature, fan speed, and louvre position. These can be addressed via KNX communication objects and integrated into visualisations, logics, or scenes. The gateway also provides feedback so that the current status of the air conditioning unit is always visible within the KNX system. Compatibility with various manufacturers is ensured through an extensive database or specific communication protocols.
