The GVS BTMO-TY/00.4 KNX Tuya-Zigbee Gateway 2.0 with external antenna enables bidirectional communication and integration of KNX devices into the Tuya platform via ZigBee. It connects KNX systems with the Tuya Cloud, allowing control and status display of KNX components via the Tuya app. Essential functions such as switching, dimming, shutter control, scene management, colour temperature control, audio control, as well as heating, climate, and ventilation system control are supported. Additionally, various sensor values (e.g. air quality, temperature, humidity, brightness, gas), inputs and outputs, as well as current and energy consumption values can be integrated and visualised within the system.

The gateway supports comprehensive logic functions, enabling flexible automation within the KNX installation. The bidirectional communication between ZigBee and KNX devices allows synchronisation of actions and status changes in both systems, which is particularly advantageous for complex smart home applications and scenarios. Direct integration into the KNX system is achieved via a KNX bus terminal, while connection to ZigBee devices is realised via an external antenna with SMA connector. The LAN interface also enables networking with the local IP network for communication with the Tuya Cloud.

Parameterisation and commissioning are carried out via appropriate KNX tools, with the physical address assigned directly on the device. Status LEDs and buttons support operation and on-site diagnostics, for example to indicate network connection or to disconnect the gateway connection. The compact design with mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail facilitates integration into distribution cabinets.

Technically, the gateway is designed for operation in typical building technology environments and supports auxiliary power supply between 12 and 30 V DC as well as the KNX bus voltage. Communication complies with KNX standards, but without KNX Secure, and is certified for the premium version BTMO-TY/00.4. The combination of KNX and ZigBee protocols enables extended system integration that goes beyond pure KNX installations and supports the use of modern IoT platforms such as Tuya.

Practically, the gateway allows central control of various building functions via a unified app, providing installers and planners with a flexible and modern solution that integrates both classic KNX components and ZigBee-based smart home devices. The possibility to network a wide range of devices and sensors and manage their data in the cloud opens up extended automation and visualisation options without additional interface components.
