The GVS AMMA-08/10.S KNX universal actuator offers a versatile control solution for building automation with up to 8 individually configurable outputs, which can be flexibly used as switching, blind, fan, or valve outputs. The switching outputs are intended for electrical loads such as lighting and sockets and support advanced functions such as central control, staircase lighting, blinking functions, on and off delays, scenes, operating hour counters, logical links, and forced control. This allows for the implementation of complex switching operations and time-dependent controls within a KNX system.

The blind outputs enable the control of up to 4 AC or 2 DC blind actuators with polarity reversal. In addition to simple up and down movement, slat adjustments for shading can also be made. The control includes functions for scenes, safety, and automatic sun protection measures. The operation of the blinds is possible not only via KNX communication but also through manual buttons with status LEDs that indicate the movement state and end positions. This facilitates commissioning and maintenance.

For fan control, up to 2 outputs are available, supporting up to three fan speeds with central control, forced control, automatic operation, and status feedback. These functions enable differentiated control of ventilation systems, with the current operating status reported back via KNX. Thus, the fan control can be integrated into higher-level automation scenarios.

The valve control is designed for 2-pipe and 4-pipe systems and supports various valve types, including 3-point valves as well as continuous PWM and 2-point controls. The functions include opening and closing valves, activating and deactivating heating and cooling functions, as well as valve flushing. Status messages about the valve condition are also provided via KNX. The integration of this valve control allows precise regulation of heating and cooling systems within building automation.

Connection to the KNX system is via an integrated bus terminal for the KNX TP bus, so no additional interface component is required. The device supports KNX Data Secure, which secures communication at the telegram level against unauthorised eavesdropping and manipulation, thereby ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of control commands. Parameterisation is done via ETS, with all outputs individually configurable to meet the respective requirements for switching functions, blinds, fans, or valves.

For operation, in addition to ETS configuration, manual buttons are available for each output, with associated status LEDs indicating the respective output state. A manual/automatic switch allows flexible local operation or full automation via KNX. The programming button is used to assign the physical KNX address and enables resetting to factory settings via a defined key combination.

The compact design with dimensions of 72 x 90 x 64.1 mm (4 TE) is designed for mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail, allowing simple and space-saving installation in distribution cabinets. Electrical connections are made via screw terminals with a conductor cross-section of 0.2 to 2.5 mm². The mechanical and electrical lifespan is designed for high durability to ensure reliable operation in demanding automation environments.

The wide range of integrated functions and flexible parameterisation make the GVS AMMA-08/10.S a universal KNX actuator suitable for a variety of applications in building automation, from simple lighting and socket switching to complex shading and ventilation concepts and precise heating control. Support for KNX Data Secure ensures secure and stable communication on the KNX bus.

The switching outputs offer, in addition to the basic on and off function, extended control options such as central control of multiple channels, staircase lighting functions with automatic switch-off, blinking modes for optical signalling, as well as on and off delays to adapt to different operating requirements. Scene functions allow saving and recalling state combinations, while operating hour counters assist with maintenance planning. Integrated logic functions enable linking switching states and other input variables, allowing complex control tasks to be realised directly in the actuator without the need for external logic modules.

The blind control supports both AC and DC actuators with polarity reversal. Using the manual control button, the blinds can be raised, lowered, stopped, and the slats adjusted. During movement, the status LED flashes; in the end positions, it lights continuously. Parameterisation allows the assignment of functions such as sun protection, scenes, and safety functions, which can be used within the KNX system to, for example, automatically activate shading in strong sunlight.

The fan outputs control up to three fan speeds, which can be regulated via central control commands, forced control, or automatic operation. Status feedback enables monitoring of the current fan status. This is particularly advantageous in ventilation concepts where different air volumes need to be controlled depending on demand or environmental conditions.

For valve control, 2-pipe and 4-pipe systems are supported. The control includes 3-point valves as well as continuous PWM and 2-point controls. The functions allow opening and closing valves as well as activating heating and cooling modes. Valve flushing serves maintenance and prevents malfunctions. Status messages regarding the valve state are provided via KNX, so the system control can always capture the current status.

Local operation is facilitated by manual buttons and associated status LEDs, which enable direct control and feedback of the outputs. Switching between manual and automatic operation allows flexible use, for example, during maintenance or in case of faults. The programming button is used for physical addressing and resetting the device.

KNX connection is via an integrated bus terminal for the KNX TP bus. Support for KNX Data Secure protects communication from unauthorised access and manipulation, which is relevant for use in security-critical applications. Parameterisation is done via ETS, with extensive settings available for outputs, functions, and links to optimally adapt the actuator to the specific requirements of building automation.

The compact design with standardised dimensions and mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail allows easy integration into distribution cabinets. The robust connection terminals and high mechanical and electrical lifespan ensure reliable long-term function. The device is intended for operation within enclosed housings and must be protected from moisture and dirt.

Overall, the GVS AMMA-08/10.S KNX universal actuator offers a flexible, secure, and powerful solution for controlling a wide range of applications in the KNX system, from lighting and load switching to shading, ventilation, and heating control, supporting practical operation and configuration.
