The GVS AMMA-04/06.S KNX universal actuator is a multifunctional actuator for integration into KNX-TP systems, providing up to four switching outputs as well as configurable shutter, fan, and valve outputs. The outputs can be flexibly parameterised and individually adapted to the respective requirements, enabling the device to cover a wide range of applications in building automation.

The four switching outputs are designed for electrical loads such as lighting or sockets and support central functions such as central control, staircase lighting, blinking modes, on and off delays, scene management, operating hour counters, logical links, and forced control. This variety of functions enables differentiated control and monitoring of loads within the KNX system.

For shutter control, up to two AC outputs and one DC output with polarity reversal are available. These channels allow control of drives for shutters, roller blinds, awnings, or curtains including slat adjustment and shading functions. Operation is possible both via the KNX system and manually via buttons on the device, with short and long button presses triggering different drive and stop functions. The status LEDs indicate the current movement state and end positions, allowing easy visualisation and on-site diagnosis.

The integrated fan output supports up to three fan speeds and offers functions such as central control, forced control, automatic operation, and status feedback. This allows flexible regulation of ventilation systems with variable speed, which can be seamlessly integrated into KNX building automation.

The valve control is designed for connection to 2- or 4-pipe systems and supports various valve types, including 3-point valves, continuous PWM, and 2-point control. The activation and deactivation of heating and cooling functions can be controlled via parameters. Additionally, functions such as valve status indication and valve flushing are integrated, enabling precise control and maintenance of heating and cooling systems.

Integration into the KNX system is via an integrated KNX-TP bus terminal, which ensures direct and stable communication. The device supports KNX Data Secure, securing communication at the telegram level against unauthorised eavesdropping and manipulation. This increases security when integrating into modern KNX installations.

Operation and parameterisation are carried out via ETS software, with numerous parameters available for configuring outputs, logic functions, scenes, and forced controls. Manual operation on the device is supported by buttons and status LEDs, allowing easy control and troubleshooting. A programming button is used to assign the physical address, and a manual/automatic button allows quick switching between manual and automatic operation.

The compact device is designed for mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail and is suitable for use in distribution cabinets and small distributors. The mechanical and electrical service life is designed for long-term use, with the actuator supporting nominal currents of up to 16 A per output and a total current load capacity of 24 A. Installation requires a qualified electrician and must be carried out in accordance with the relevant standards and regulations.

In practice, the GVS AMMA-04/06.S allows central and flexible control of various load types and drives in KNX systems. The combination of switching, shutter, fan, and valve controls in one device reduces installation effort and enables space-saving integration. The extensive functions for central control, scene management, and logic links offer planners and installers versatile options for individual adaptation to complex automation tasks.

Manual operation via buttons with associated status LEDs supports commissioning and maintenance, as states and operating modes are visible directly on the device. The option to parameterise delays, forced controls, and operating hour measurements extends the functionality and facilitates monitoring and control during operation.

By supporting KNX Data Secure, communication on the KNX bus is encrypted at the telegram level and protected against manipulation, which is particularly important in security-relevant environments. The direct KNX-TP connection without additional interface components enables stable and practical integration into existing KNX systems.

The valve control with support for 2- and 4-pipe systems as well as different control types (3-point, PWM, 2-point) opens up diverse application possibilities in heating and air conditioning technology. The integrated valve flushing function and status feedback facilitate maintenance and increase the operational reliability of the connected systems.

The compact design with dimensions of 30 x 90 x 64 mm (2 modules) and the low weight allow easy mounting on standard DIN rails. The robust construction and compliance with technical specifications ensure reliable operation within the intended temperature range.
