The GVS KNX Pushbutton Sensor ADVANCE+ offers a flexible and installation-friendly solution for professional KNX building installations, characterised by diverse programming options and a compact design. With its well-thought-out construction, it can be easily integrated into existing systems and is equipped with practical functions for switching, dimming, and scene control.

  • Multifunctional pushbutton configuration: Each of the four buttons can be individually configured as a rocker or two separate buttons, enabling flexible control concepts with ON/OFF/UP functions.
  • Integrated logic and control functions: The pushbutton sensor features 8 integrated logic modules with 8 inputs each, supports threshold comparisons, data type conversions, as well as event groups and shift registers for complex automation scenarios.
  • RGB status display and backlighting: The LEDs can be configured in 3 colours and offer flexible day/night settings for actuation indicators and backlighting to personalise the control panel.
  • Direct KNX-TP bus power supply: Power is supplied via the KNX bus (21-30 V DC) with an operating load of under 12 mA, so no separate power supply is required.
  • Versatile button functions with short/long press detection: The buttons distinguish between short and long presses with freely adjustable time spans, enabling different telegram types (switching, dimming, scene control).

The GVS ADV-08/02.2.00 KNX Pushbutton Sensor ADVANCE+ in the 4-fold variant is a multifunctional pushbutton sensor for KNX building automation that provides a variety of control and measurement functions directly via the KNX bus. It is mounted in a standard flush-mounted box and requires no separate power supply as it is powered via the KNX bus. Programming is carried out exclusively via ETS (from version 4) without additional plugins.

The pushbutton sensor offers flexible operating options: each of the eight button areas can be configured either as a single button or as a rocker with two switching buttons. Short and long button presses can be distinguished, allowing control of different functions with just one button. The buttons can be used for switching, dimming, controlling blinds or shutters, triggering scenes, or operating shift registers. The dimming function supports both start-stop dimming and stepped dimming with adjustable brightness change and cycle intervals. For switching functions, different reactions can be defined for button press and release, including toggle options.

For visual feedback, RGB status indicators are integrated per button, with colour and brightness individually adjustable. The backlighting and LED indicators can be configured separately for day and night operation, with a day/night mode and associated control objects provided. The status LEDs can also be dimmed cyclically to create a pleasant ambience. The labelling foil on the front plate serves as a labelling field and is also equipped with adjustable LED backlighting.

The integrated temperature sensor allows room temperature measurement, which is integrated as a measured value into the KNX system and can be used for automation functions. In addition to the basic functions, the ADVANCE+ offers extensive logic functions with eight independent logic modules supporting AND, OR, NAND, NOR, and XOR links. Threshold comparisons and data type conversions are also possible, allowing complex control and automation scenarios directly within the device, thus reducing the need for external logic modules.

Event groups with eight configurable outputs each enable grouping and delayed processing of telegrams, simplifying the control of time-dependent processes. Communication takes place via up to 189 communication objects and 250 group addresses, allowing extensive integration into large KNX projects.

The pushbutton sensor is designed in a compact form factor with dimensions suitable for mounting in 60mm/86mm flush-mounted boxes and is available in glossy white. Operation and configuration are carried out via ETS, with numerous parameters such as button type, LED brightness, button press durations, reaction types, and function activation individually adjustable. The possibility to activate or deactivate button functions via bus objects increases control flexibility.

In practical use, the GVS ADV-08/02.2.00 KNX Pushbutton Sensor ADVANCE+ enables precise and versatile control of lighting, shading, and scenes in KNX buildings. The integrated logic and event group functions allow intelligent preprocessing of control commands, simplifying the system architecture and reducing the number of external components. The flexible LED status display supports intuitive operation and facilitates orientation in the room, while the temperature sensor provides additional environmental data for building automation. The extensive configuration options ensure adaptation to a wide range of applications and user needs.

The direct KNX-TP bus connection without additional interface components ensures stable and practical integration into the KNX system. Configuration allows the use of all functions via standardised KNX communication objects, facilitating integration into existing systems. The distinction between short and long button presses and the diverse reaction options enable differentiated operation with minimal hardware effort. The integrated staircase lighting function, forced guidance, and button lock via the bus extend the application possibilities in building technology.

The RGB actuation indicators and backlighting can be individually defined for day and night operation, allowing optimal adaptation to lighting conditions and user preferences. The insert foil as a labelling field allows clear and flexible button labelling, facilitating orientation and operation. The compact design and low weight support easy and space-saving installation in standard flush-mounted boxes.

Overall, the GVS ADV-08/02.2.00 KNX Pushbutton Sensor ADVANCE+ offers a technically sound and practice-oriented solution for multifunctional operation in KNX buildings, enabling flexible and efficient building automation through extensive logic, control, and measurement functions.
