The GVS KNX push-button sensor ADVANCE+ offers a well-thought-out and compact solution for building control, characterised by diverse programming options and flexible operation. Its installation-friendly design allows easy integration into standard flush-mounted boxes and supports individual customisation of button functions.

  • Extensive KNX functionality: The GVS ADV-06/02.2.00 KNX push-button sensor supports switching, dimming, shutter control, scene control, shift register, as well as RGB and RGBW dimming, enabling versatile building automation.
  • Integrated logic and event groups: The device features 8 integrated logic modules with 8 inputs each and 8 event groups with 8 configurable outputs each for complex control logic without additional components.
  • Flexible button mode: Each of the 3 buttons can be configured as a rocker switch or as two independent buttons, with differentiated detection of short and long presses for versatile operation.
  • RGB status display and backlighting: The status LEDs are configurable in 3 colours, with adjustable brightness and day/night switching, including flexible RGB actuation indicators for individual visualisation.
  • Integrated temperature sensor: Enables temperature measurement directly in the push-button sensor, which can be read via the KNX bus and used for automation functions.

The GVS ADV-06/02.2.00 KNX push-button sensor ADVANCE+ in the 3-gang version is a multifunctional push-button sensor for KNX building automation that combines essential control and measurement functions in a compact device. It connects directly to the KNX bus and requires no additional power supply, allowing simple integration into existing KNX installations. Installation is standardised in 60mm or 86mm flush-mounted boxes, compatible with common switch series from European manufacturers.

The push-button sensor offers flexible operating options: each of the three buttons can be configured either as a single button or as a rocker with two switching surfaces. In button mode, the left and right buttons can be configured independently, allowing diverse control scenarios. In rocker mode, both sides are linked as a unit and respond together. The actuation duration is adjustable, and a distinction can be made between short and long presses, with the duration of the long press settable between 0.3 and 2.5 seconds.

Functionally, the push-button sensor supports switching, dimming, shutter, and scene controls. In switching mode, pressing or releasing the button sends telegrams that trigger on, off, or toggle commands. For dimming, a choice between start-stop dimming and stepwise brightness changes is available, with dimming levels and cyclic sending intervals configurable. Responses to short and long presses can be defined separately, e.g. dimming brighter or darker on long press. Scene control allows calling up and storing up to 64 scenes per button, differentiated by short and long actuation.

The integrated temperature sensor provides measurements that can be used within the KNX system for control or monitoring. The RGB status LEDs on each button are individually adjustable in brightness and colour and support day/night operation with variable brightness. The backlighting of the labelling fields is also dimmable and can be cycled or permanently switched on/off. The LED display can be controlled via bus objects, including the possibility to activate the button lock via the bus.

The device includes eight independent logic modules with eight inputs each, allowing AND, OR, NAND, NOR, and XOR connections. Additionally, threshold comparisons and data type conversions are available, enabling complex automation tasks directly in the sensor and reducing the need for external logic modules. Eight event groups with eight configurable outputs each allow flexible grouping of control commands and states.

Configuration is done exclusively via ETS from version 4, without additional plugins. The application supports up to 189 communication objects, 250 group addresses, and 250 links, enabling integration into extensive KNX systems. The status LEDs are configurable in three colours and indicate operating states as well as programming mode. The device features a red programming LED and a programming button for address assignment.

In practice, the GVS ADV-06/02.2.00 KNX push-button sensor ADVANCE+ enables versatile operation of switching, dimming, and shutter functions, as well as scene control and use of logic functions directly in the sensor. The flexible LED lighting supports an appealing and functional design of the control interface, adaptable to time of day and user preferences. This makes the sensor suitable for both residential and commercial applications where a compact, multifunctional control solution with comprehensive KNX functionalities is required.

The integrated logic functions allow processing of input signals with AND, OR, NAND, NOR, and XOR gates as well as threshold comparisons, enabling complex control tasks without external logic modules. These functions allow, for example, the combination of button commands with states of other KNX components or the evaluation of measurement values for demand-oriented system control.

The flexible button configuration allows use as simple switches, dimmers, or shutter controls with differentiated response to short and long presses. Value and forced control functions can also be used to set or override states deliberately. Scene control supports calling up and storing multiple scenes per button, enabling comfortable control of complex lighting or shading scenes.

The LED indicators have individually adjustable brightness and can be automatically adapted in day/night operation. The RGB status indicators on the buttons offer the possibility to visually represent states or operating modes in colour, enhancing usability and clarity. The backlighting of the labelling fields can also be variably controlled to ensure optimal readability and an attractive design.

The direct KNX bus connection without additional power supply and the compact design facilitate installation in standard flush-mounted boxes. Configuration is conveniently done via ETS, with the extensive communication objects and group addresses allowing flexible integration into various KNX systems. The robust design and long service life of the buttons ensure reliable operation in continuous use.
