The GIRA 5375005 motion detector attachment S3000 System 55 is an electronic attachment for automatic control of lighting in System 3000. It detects heat movements and takes ambient brightness into account to switch lighting only when needed. This enables demand-oriented light control that supports energy savings and increases comfort. The motion detector attachment is designed for a mounting height of up to 2.20 m and offers a detection angle of 180°. At this height, the detection range is a maximum of 15 m forward and up to 10 m to each side. At a lower mounting height of up to 1.10 m, the detection range reduces to a maximum of 10 m forward and 9 m to the sides.

The motion detector attachment is compatible with System 3000 switching, dimming and auxiliary inserts, which are connected via a 3-wire connection. In combination with an auxiliary insert, the detection range can be extended, increasing flexibility in planning and installation. The brightness threshold at which the motion detector activates the lighting is adjustable and can be varied between about 5 and 500 lux; a fixed daytime operation is also possible. The sensor sensitivity can be adjusted in four levels (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) to tailor the response to movements individually according to the requirements of the installation site.

Lighting operation is automatic via the motion detector but can be supplemented by connecting a System 3000 auxiliary insert with control attachment or mechanical switch. This allows the lighting to be manually switched on or dimmed during the hold time. The hold time is fixed at about two minutes, during which the light remains on after detecting movement. When using a System 3000 dimming insert, the lighting can be switched on with the last set or a stored switch-on brightness. Permanent storage of this switch-on brightness is only possible via an auxiliary insert with control attachment.

Commissioning includes adjusting the sensitivity and brightness threshold according to local conditions and requirements. The combination with auxiliary inserts allows flexible extension of functionality and individual adaptation of control. Status indication is provided by the lighting’s reaction; a separate diagnostic function is not described.

The motion detector attachment is designed as a System 55 device and has a width of 1 module unit, which is relevant for planning installation space in switch programmes. Power supply is via the System 3000 3-wire connection, which is used uniformly for switching, dimming and auxiliary inserts. The colour variant of this model is matt black, matching the corresponding frames of the Standard 55 series.
