The GIRA 4454005 SCHUKO socket System 55 with hinged cover is a flush-mounted socket for connecting electrical devices with a rated voltage of 250 V~ and a rated current of 16 A. It is designed for conductor cross-sections from 1.5 to 2.5 mm² and can be connected with both solid and flexible conductors. The socket’s mounting ring is grounded in conjunction with the fastening claws and claw screws, ensuring safe dissipation of fault currents. Installation is quick and easy via quick fastening with approx. 3.5 turns per claw, supported by enclosed spread claws and a robust screw head drive (PZ1 / slot / PH). The patented arrangement of the large keyhole profiles allows simplified installation using flush-mounted box screws and ensures a shallow installation depth of 29 mm, which is especially advantageous in confined installation situations. Ergonomically shaped release levers simplify the removal of the socket. The housing consists of a break-resistant thermoplastic base, while the mounting ring is made of corrosion-resistant steel and features a stable grounding bracket with solid grounding fingers. The socket is part of the Gira System 55 and can be combined with cover frames from the Standard 55, Gira E1, and Gira E2 switch programmes. In combination with a sealing kit, a water-protected installation according to IP44 is possible, allowing use in damp rooms or outdoors. The matt black version with hinged cover offers additional protection against dirt and mechanical stress. The socket is suitable for use in private and commercial areas and guarantees a safe and durable installation thanks to its well-thought-out design and high-quality materials.
