The Enertex® KNX IP Secure Router (2 TE) is the central component for KNX systems to link them via the IP backbone. Communication takes place using the currently highest possible security standard. The device authenticates and encrypts KNX and IP telegrams. A potential attacker on the IP side, e.g. from the internet or intranet, cannot recognise any content in the KNX-IP telegrams. The telegram rate limitation, max. telegram lengths up to 248 bytes, and bus performance up to 49 telegrams per second optimise use when accessed by logics and visualisations. The OLED display simplifies diagnostics. The topology error detection and temporary filter deactivation facilitate commissioning diagnostics.

Via an additional application, the time synchronised via NTP is output as a KNX bus telegram. The time is buffered for up to 36 hours in the event of a power failure, so that bus time is immediately available again when power is restored. Additionally, the application offers a "mapper". This enables the connection from unsecure to secure group addresses. This allows new secure devices in modern systems to be connected to older devices.
