The Enertex® ProxyTouch KNX is a capacitive touch sensor that can be installed behind surfaces such as ceramic, wood, and glass. It features 3 sensor fields in a splash-proof plastic housing measuring 210x140x11 mm. When, for example, the tile behind which the device is mounted is touched at the desired sensor field (A, B, or C), a telegram is sent to the bus. The sensors can be addressed together, individually, or by swipe gesture. All sensor fields can also be activated with a double click. Upon touch, an optional acoustic feedback is emitted, with each button field producing a different tone pitch (A = high, B = medium, C = low). When the device is in programming mode, a red LED lights up and a buzzer sounds. In cleaning mode, a tone can also be optionally activated to signal the device’s lock function. Since the sensors respond to capacitive changes, the functionality of the wall sensor is better with a quick approach than with a slow one. The range through the surface material behind which the device is installed is a maximum of 25 mm for ceramic or glass and a maximum of 20 mm for wood. The ProxyTouch KNX is powered exclusively by the KNX bus.
