The push button is designed for the GRMS (Guest Room Management System) used in hotels. It features touch-sensitive buttons that activate functions within the KNX building bus system. With the KNX eTR DND/MUR Switch, guests in the room can select the service requests "Do Not Disturb" (DND) or "Make Up Room" (MUR).

A temperature sensor is integrated into the push button. Via the bus, the device can receive an external temperature measurement and combine it with its own data to calculate an overall temperature (mixed value). Two inputs can be connected to either binary contacts such as push buttons and window contacts or analogue temperature sensors T-NTC. Communication objects can be linked using AND and OR logic gates.

The counterpart to the KNX eTR DND/MUR Switch is the KNX eTR DND/MUR Signal/Bell, which is installed outside the room.
