The rain sensor detects precipitation and outputs the status via a potential-free contact.

This allows the sensor to be used with different control systems. The device signals rain alarm to the system’s potential-free input (binary input/digital input) by closing the contact. The system then takes over the further processing or evaluation of this information.

The rain sensor therefore has a wide range of applications, from smart home use (e.g. Matter) through proprietary systems such as roof window controls, to PLC automation, smoke and heat extraction systems, or as a cost-effective addition in the KNX building bus system. The prerequisites are a binary input and corresponding logic for processing.
