KNX gateway for integrating Kostal solar inverters into the KNX bus. The gateway is based on the SunSpec Modbus TCP interface and is compatible with the Kostal inverter series Plenticore and Piko IQ.

Functions

- Publishing generation data on the bus. AC power, daily and total energy, voltage and current per phase, frequency, power factor and inverter temperature – each as a standardised KNX object.

- Display of each PV string. Voltage and current for up to 3 strings – detect a switched-off or defective string via the visualisation.

- Battery monitoring. Charge/discharge power and state of charge (SOC) on the bus for load shifting and emergency power logic.

- Overview of the grid balance. The inverter’s power meter provides the grid feed-in or withdrawal as a signed object – exactly the value needed by the self-consumption logic.

- React without a server. 64 logic functions in the gateway: logic gates with 8 inputs, 4-stage sequences, weekly calendar triggers and mathematical calculations – e.g. surplus over 2 kW for 5 minutes → switch on water heater.
