This small stainless steel marvel transforms your front door into an intelligent control centre – with camera, intercom, motion detection and full smart home integration. Whether you use it with Gira X1, Home Assistant or all on its own: your home starts right at the door.

Imagine you’re standing in the garden, phone in your pocket, and someone rings the bell. You immediately receive a push notification, see live who is there, speak to them and open the door – all via your smartphone. No hectic running to the door, no "One moment please!" over the intercom. The DOORBIRD D1101V flush-mounted makes exactly this possible. And it can do much more.

Design meets technology: The flush-mounted version in detail

The D1101V flush-mounted is not just a stylish stainless steel plate with a camera. It is a full IP communication system that fits seamlessly into the wall while remaining robust, weatherproof and vandal-proof. You get a stainless steel housing that not only looks elegant but is also durable and conveys a high-quality feel. The dimensions are compact: 142 x 58 x 28 mm installation cutout. Installation is via a supplied flush-mounted housing that integrates cleanly into masonry or plaster. The call button is backlit, as is the nameplate – and both are configurable.

Camera and audio: you see and hear everything

The integrated camera delivers a razor-sharp full HD image with 1080p, even in difficult lighting conditions. This is ensured by an automatic IR cut filter, a light sensor and infrared LEDs for night vision mode. The lens is hemispherical with a 180° diagonal field of view – so you not only see who is directly at the door but also what is happening to the left and right. For sound, DoorBird relies on full duplex audio with echo and noise cancellation (AEC, ANR). You can speak normally with your visitor without any rattling or static, even in wind or street noise.

Network and power: As flexible as you need

The D1101V can be connected to the network via LAN with PoE or via Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz). If you don’t want to lay network cables to the door, you can use the optional 2-wire adapter and use the existing doorbell wiring – saving time and effort. Power supply is either via PoE (802.3af Mode-A) or via a 15 V DC power supply. You get a bistable switching relay that retains its state even during a power failure – ideal for door openers, garage doors or lighting control.

Motion detection with 4D sensor technology

The integrated 4D motion sensor is a real highlight. It detects not only movement but also direction and speed. You can set the range via the app between 1 and 6 metres and define what should happen: push notification, relay switching, HTTP call, SIP call – everything is possible. This means, for example, you can automatically switch on an outdoor light when someone approaches your door; but only at night and only if the movement comes from outside. This is not only smart but also energy efficient.

Integration into Gira X1: That’s how it becomes proper KNX

If you work with Gira X1, you can integrate the D1101V into your logic via HTTP requests. This works via a third-party logic module that receives and processes external HTTP calls. Sounds complicated? It isn’t. You set up an HTTP call in the DoorBird app that is triggered when the bell rings. This call is received by the Gira X1 and can, for example, activate a lighting scene, display a notification on the Gira G1 or switch a relay. You can even define time conditions, such as "Only switch on the light between 6 pm and 10 pm when the bell rings." Communication takes place via SIP, which means you can also speak directly to the visitor from the Gira G1, including door opening via DTMF code. The setup is somewhat technical, but DoorBird provides a detailed guide on how to configure the SIP connection, assign IP addresses and store phone numbers.

Home Assistant: Full automation

If you work with Home Assistant, it gets really exciting. The D1101V can be fully integrated, including camera, motion sensor, doorbell event and relay control. You can:

• display the live image directly in your visualisation
• create automations, e.g. "When someone rings, send a push notification and switch on the light"
• control the IR mode and the relay directly via the interface
• send HTTP calls from the DoorBird app to Home Assistant to trigger actions

Setup is done via the DoorBird integration in Home Assistant. You create your own DoorBird user account with API rights, enter the IP address, username and password, and you’re ready to go. Events such as "ring" or "motion detected" appear as triggers in your automation list. You can combine them with conditions and actions, for example: "Only send a notification if no one is home." The camera can also be integrated: you get access to the live image, the last doorbell image and the last motion image. These can be displayed in a notification or visualised in a dashboard.

Security and data protection

The D1101V is IP65 certified, so weatherproof, and IK08 rated, so vandal-proof. Data transmission is encrypted, and you can decide whether to store images and videos locally or in the DoorBird cloud. The cloud function is optional and chargeable, but you can also use a NAS such as Synology or QNAP.

Bluetooth and access control

With the integrated Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), you can, for example, use the DoorBird Keyfob A8007 or integrate other BLE-enabled sensors and locks. You can, for example, automatically open your door lock when you approach – completely without a key or code.
