The gate opening detector VdS C reliably secures larger gates such as garage, roller, or sliding gates by reporting unauthorised openings to the intruder alarm system. It consists of a magnet and a reed contact, which are mounted in parallel: if the distance remains constant, the detector is in a resting state; if the distance changes, an alarm is triggered. An integrated external field protection prevents tampering, as only the corresponding magnet keeps the detector in the resting state. Proper installation is carried out centrally in the driveway, with the magnetic contact mounted on the floor and the magnet attached about 20 mm away on the inside of the gate. The detector is suitable for surface mounting, water- and dustproof (IP68), and protected against damage such as being driven over by its robust housing. The wired detector is certified according to VdS C and EN Grade 3.
