The active glass break detector monitors glass surfaces with high sensitivity and reliably detects any change to the pane, which is reported to the Secoris intrusion alarm control panel. An automatic self-test prevents false alarms even in case of contamination. The system consists of an ultrasonic transmitter, receiver, and an evaluation unit: a piezo transmitter element sets the pane into vibration, which is received and analysed by the receiver. If the transmitted frequency changes, an alarm is triggered. The detector is suitable for almost all types of glass in framed constructions, including window, safety, laminated, bulletproof, and wired glass, as well as glass with splinter protection film. Thanks to VdS-C certification, it is also suitable for areas with high security requirements and compatible with the ABUS Secoris EMA as well as other alarm systems with wired zones.
